EPA Renovation, Repair & Painting Initial

Description

This one day (8 hour) class explains how to comply with EPA’s Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule. Trades that may require RRP certification include HVAC, painting, electrical, window replacement, flooring, drywall, or plumbing workers and contractors. Property and facilities managers are also responsible for ensuring that RRP rules are followed, whether the work is performed by outside contractors or their own employees. The requirements apply to renovation, repair or painting activities in residential or child-occupied facilities where six square feet or more of surface containing lead-based paint is disturbed in a room, or where more than 20 square feet of material containing lead-based paint is disturbed on the exterior.

Subjects covered in the course include health effects, regulations, lead-safe work practices, containment, cleaning, and record keeping. Upon passing the completion exam, you will receive EPA RRP certification valid for five years.

Visit the EPA's website for additional information about RRP certification.

This class requires a minimum number of participants to run. Please register at least one week prior to the course date to ensure that class will be held.
