AHERA Building Inspector & Management Planner Refresher

This eight-hour course satisfies the annual refresher requirement to keep accreditation as an AHERA Building Inspector and Management Planner current. It is one of the requirements for retaining Cal-OSHA certification as a Certified Asbestos Consultant or Site Surveillance Technician.

You review the most common locations and materials for asbestos in buildings and the most important federal and California regulations that cover inspection issues. We discuss health effects, legal liability and insurance issues, along with updates to regulations and research. We review the AHERA protocols for inspection, sampling, categorizing, and recording materials, and approaches to finding hidden asbestos products. In the second half of the class, for Management Planners, real-life case studies help you examine and develop responses to asbestos problems in schools and other public buildings.

Those with Building Inspector certification only should take the 4-hour Building Inspector Refresher course. 

Since the Building Inspector course is a prerequisite for Management Planner training, Management Planners generally take the full 8-hour refresher course. (Please contact us if you have already taken your Building Inspector refresher and need only the Management Planner portion.)
