Giovanni “Gio” Fanelli has been working with asbestos since 1981. He began as an abatement equipment and consumables manager working for his Father Dominick V. Fanelli and Uncle Rudy S. Gonzales. He then joined the Local 38 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union working as an asbestos abatement worker and thermal system insulator, before becoming an asbestos abatement contractor and certified asbestos consultant. Gio has supervised, designed, inspected, and managed asbestos and lead abatement projects nationwide over the last 37 years. He has provided EH&S trainings around the Country for private clients and training institutions. Gio is an OSHA Authorized Outreach Safety Instructor (UCSD OTI). He assisted The State of California CSLB with developing the C-22 Asbestos Abatement Classification and publications like the Asbestos Open Book Exam and Consumers Guide to Asbestos 2018 and 2019.
